Design & Brand

Brand, content, and visual identity

Roles that shape how HMZ House shows up: strategy, messaging, and design.

Brand Strategist Intern - help decide how HMZ House is positioned, then plan content and aesthetics so design work stays intentional.

About the role

HMZ House is building a clearer brand presence for clients and audiences. As a Brand Strategist Intern, you will identify strategic angles, define how we should sound and look, and turn that into a content plan the graphic designer can execute as posts and visuals.

You sit upstream of design: strategy and planning first, production second.

What you'd work on

  • Help position the HMZ House brand for clients and public audiences.
  • Identify strategic themes, messages, and narrative angles worth saying.
  • Plan content calendars and briefs so posts have a clear purpose before they are designed.
  • Shape aesthetic direction (tone, visual mood, do's and don'ts) for consistency across platforms.
  • Hand off structured briefs to the graphic designer for posts, carousels, and announcements.
  • Review drafts against the strategy and suggest refinements.

Who we looked for

No prior professional experience required. We looked for willingness to grow and clear thinking.

  • Interest in brands, messaging, and how companies present themselves.
  • Comfort writing and organizing ideas into simple plans or briefs.
  • Curiosity about aesthetics and visual consistency (you do not need to be the designer).
  • Ability to take light direction and work independently.
  • Willingness to learn, iterate, and grow with the team.

Graphic Designer & Visual Storyteller Intern - internship begins in September.

About the role

HMZ House is an applied AI research and consultancy institution turning ideas into real systems for businesses that need them. As we grow our presence, we need someone who can give HMZ House a visual identity: content that looks intentional, not templated.

As a Graphic Designer Intern, you'll own the visual side of our social presence, turning ideas, research updates, and announcements into content people actually stop scrolling for.

What you'd work on

  • Design social media posts, carousels, and simple graphics for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Translate written content and ideas into clear, visually compelling formats.
  • Maintain a consistent visual identity across platforms as HMZ House builds its brand.
  • Experiment with formats (quote cards, explainer visuals, announcement graphics, and more) to see what resonates.

Who we're looking for

We're not looking for a finished professional. We're looking for someone with a real eye for design and the instinct to make something original rather than default to a template.

You should:

  • Be comfortable with a design tool of your choice (Canva, Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar).
  • Have a basic sense of layout, color, and typography. This doesn't need to be formally trained, just demonstrable.
  • Be able to work independently with light direction and turn ideas into visuals without needing every detail spelled out.

No prior professional experience required.

Bonus points

  • A portfolio of past design work (personal, academic, or freelance). Not required, but a strong plus.
  • Any experience designing for social media specifically.

Application task (required with your application)

Answer the following in a few sentences or a rough sketch/mockup, whichever you prefer:

"If you had to visually represent the idea of 'finding a research gap' (something no one has properly explored yet) with no text allowed, what would you design? Walk us through your thinking."

There's no right answer here. We're more interested in how you think through an open-ended visual problem than in a polished final image.

Research & Engineering

Applied research and systems

Roles focused on investigation, prototyping, and technical depth.

About the role

HMZ House is an applied AI research institution focused on turning ideas into real systems. We believe innovation comes from identifying gaps, not reproducing what already exists.

As a Research Intern, you'd investigate emerging technologies, challenge existing approaches, and prototype ideas that have the potential to become future products or research initiatives.

This role combines technical research, engineering, experimentation, and technical writing.

What you'd work on

Technical research

  • Review research papers, technical blogs, open-source projects, and industry products.
  • Analyze existing AI systems to understand their strengths, weaknesses, and trade-offs.
  • Identify research gaps, unexplored opportunities, or problems worth solving.
  • Present findings through structured research reports and discussions.

Technical writing

  • Write technical blogs that summarize the current state of a topic.
  • Position a research gap using evidence from literature and existing implementations.
  • Propose hypotheses and future research directions.
  • Publish work that contributes to HMZ House's research knowledge base.

AI prototyping

  • Build proof-of-concepts to validate research ideas.
  • Develop APIs, scripts, and experimental services using Python & FastAPI, or JavaScript/TypeScript & Node.js/NestJS.
  • Evaluate approaches through experimentation rather than assumptions.

Automation

  • Design workflows using n8n to automate research and operational processes.
  • Integrate APIs, databases, and AI services into reproducible workflows.

Agentic AI

  • Prototype AI agents using frameworks such as LangChain.
  • Experiment with tool use, memory, retrieval, evaluation, and multi-agent workflows.
  • Explore Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations for reliable tool and context access.

Data

  • Design and query NoSQL databases for research experiments and prototypes.
  • Organize datasets and experiment results for future analysis.

Who we looked for

We looked for curious builders who enjoy understanding why systems work before building them.

You should have been:

  • A student or early-career software engineer.
  • Comfortable programming in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Someone who enjoys reading documentation, technical blogs, and research papers.
  • Able to communicate technical ideas clearly through writing.
  • Self-driven and willing to learn unfamiliar technologies independently.

Bonus points

We strongly encouraged applicants who had demonstrated curiosity beyond coursework.

Examples include:

  • Technical blogs or personal websites
  • Medium publications
  • Research papers or literature reviews
  • Open-source contributions
  • Hackathon projects
  • Experimental AI projects
  • Developer portfolios documenting technical explorations

We cared less about polished products and more about evidence that you enjoy exploring ideas and sharing what you learn.

Wild Card

The outliers

For people whose talent does not fit a job title.

Wild Card - this is not a conventional role. It is an open invitation to anyone whose skill, talent, or body of work is so unusual that no existing position would capture it.

About this listing

Some people do not fit a job description because their ability is the job description. Maybe you are fluent in six languages. Maybe you wrote a novel at fifteen. Maybe you built something no one asked for and it worked. Maybe your talent is so niche that most companies would not know what to do with you.

We would. If we find you interesting, we will find you a place at HMZ House regardless of technical background.

What we'd ask you to share

  • What your skill, talent, or body of work actually is - in your own words.
  • Why it matters, or why you think it is rare.
  • Any proof: a portfolio, a link, a story, a document, anything that shows rather than tells.
  • What kind of work you imagine yourself doing at HMZ House (or just say you are not sure - that is fine too).

Who this is for

There are no requirements. No degree, no experience threshold, no technical checklist. We are looking for outliers: people who have done something genuinely distinctive and want a place where that is valued.

  • Any age, any background, any field.
  • Technical ability is not a factor.
  • We care about what makes you different, not what makes you conventional.

Role details

  • JID: PR0001
  • Work mode: Remote
  • Location: Pakistan
  • Engagement: Internship
  • Duration: 4 weeks
  • Extension: Extendable
  • Compensation: PKR 10,000 / term
  • Bonuses: If applicable
  • Benefits: No
  • Start: TBA

In your email, mention JID:PR0001 - Wild Card. Tell us what makes you an outlier. Attach anything that helps us understand your talent - there is no wrong format.
